Hyperadapt 1.0: Nike's Auto-lacing Shoes and a Bit of Recent History on the Tech

Nike has finally released auto-lacing shoes! How long has it been? Back To the Future 2 right? Anyway, I'm excited that they finally released something for public use. I'm tired of seeing photos and videos of King Chip wearing those awesome Air Mags on stage. But whatever, I know if I had them I'd wear them too. But back to the Hyperadapt 1.0! They resemble running shoes, but look very causal as well. The white, black and grey color options aren't bad choices to start this brand either considering they're most likely going to continue altering and updating the already unique designs. I'm pretty sure the entire color wheel may show up at some point.

Now the tech! this is what I'm interested in most however. I want to know how they work! I mean it's pretty obvious though; after taking a look at the bottom of the shoe, you can see a nice white box. Yup the one that glows in the video. THAT is most likely the motor which pulls the strings or laces. I'm wondering how they were able to make the motor so small? In 2012, I had a research report on new and upcoming technology. In my search for something awesome, I came across Ms. Blake Bevin. This inventor, in her own time, created the original tech behind auto-laces. Her designs were amazing and the shoes looked like they provided a very sn ug fit. However, the only issue was the motor. Its size, durability, and chances of it shorting due to moisture. I learned all this interviewing Ms. Bevin herself. At the time, it was the only thing I could do to get adequate info.

So, as you can see, the tech was pretty much finished by the time Nike got to it. (My opinion). But, I can't wait to see what they added to the design.
