Gotta Catch Em All!

Catching every moment of your children's lives is like playing a game of, Pokemon, or Pokemon Go. Trying to catch every single special moment becomes this impossible task. First steps, first words, and first days of school are among the top firsts. You're probably doing so much that you can't be the host and photographer to all the events. Well, that's why you should consider hiring me. For the photography of course. Even if you do miss an important event, some really creative photography can still save the day.

I recently had a client, Ms. Davis, who needed pictures of her niece. There were no quality pictures taken at her first birthday, and no first Christmas pics either. There was just too much going on. Looking to surprise her sister for Christmas, Ms. Davis wanted to plan a surprise themed shoot, but couldn't decide on which theme (birthday or Christmas) to settle on. I thought this was a great Idea and suggested doing both themes anyway. I figured, worst case scenario, we have too many images of one theme. Not too bad a trade-off.

There was also an issue about what my subject Ziya would wear for her birthday outfit. After some looking around, we couldn't find anything suitable in time for the shoot. So I suggested that I could create something custom if necessary. How hard could it be? Ms. Davis thought it was a great idea! She had seen some of my work before, as well as one of my previous articles, and agreed it would add a nice touch of creativity to the apparel in the shoot. The onesie I created simply read: Ziya 1st Birthday. In shiny purple and red letters. Given the short period of time, I think it came out well. Ziya loved it. When I handed it to her, the look on her face said it all. she couldn't understand at the time why I was giving it to her, but she got so shy afterward and said "thank you." That was all I needed

The shoot itself went according to plan. We decorated an area for Ziya to just have fun and play around in while I just focused on doing what I do best. Capturing my subject.Catching her attention, and creating the scene was in a nutshell, was what I did.

I had fun working with Ms. Davis and Ziya. The images turned out great, and so far, I'm getting positive feedback. Ziya's mom even gave me permission to use these images of Ziya however I need. That was a really cool experience, and I'm ready for more.
